Surgical laser TMR improves angina class
- Allen et al randomized 275 patients with refractory CCS class IV angina who could not be treated with coronary revascularization to TMR plus continued antianginal therapy or antianginal therapy alone.
- A greater proportion of patients in the TMR group reported improvement in angina class at 3 months vs the group receiving medical therapy alone. This difference was sustained over 1 year of follow-up.
