CARISA: Summary
- Ranolazine SR at doses of 750 mg bid and 1000 mg bid demonstrated positive clinical effects for all outcome variables.
- Ranolazine SR exerted these positive effects without negatively affecting heart rate or blood pressure and was generally well tolerated.
- Mean QTc increases vs placebo of 6.1 milliseconds (750 mg bid) and 9.2 milliseconds(1000 mg bid) were reported.
- There was no effect on QT dispersion, and no torsade de pointes was reported.
- Most common transient adverse events were constipation, dizziness, asthenia, and nausea (≤7.3% in ranolazine group)
